While the exhibition on Martial Raysse is going full swing at the Centre Pompidou in Paris (until 22 September), the charms of the female face produced by the artist in 1963 inspired a bid slightly above her estimate. A member since 1960 of the New Realist group, which he co-founded, Raysse travelled to New York several years later, then moved to Los Angeles.
